One of the core responsibilities of the ACOMS is our obligation to support the training of young oral and maxillofacial surgeons and their residency programming. The College supports research and the development of projects by residents throughout the United States by sponsoring research awards to residents and fellows in the OMS field. Additionally, fellowships in specialized areas are funded by the College. Such support is indicative of the College’s increased emphasis on the value of studies performed by residents, the relevance of research, and the professional discipline of publication in preparing young oral and maxillofacial surgeons to be able to increase the level of patient health care.

Resources for residents include:

  • Complementary membership including full member benefits

  • Greatly discounted registration for all ACOMS meetings and events

  • Special residents-only functions like our Residents Meeting

  • Access to our web-based resources like the career center, solutions marketplace, and CDE/CME tracker

  • The opportunity to present oral and poster abstracts at our Annual Meeting or Residents Meeting which are eligible for cash prizes and are published in OOOO Journal
